Wanderlust

My mind wanders to a tropical isle
With white sand beaches by a turquoise sea
And where time stands still as I stay a while
My eyes feast on beautiful things to see

My mind longs to see a snow-capped mountain
With gorgeous alpine lakes and trails so steep
And where the magnificent views surround 
My heart feels complete every time I breathe 

My mind strays to old castles and kingdoms 
With great architecture and history 
Where ancient people rule with their wisdoms 
My senses explode and revel with glee 

My mind wanders to faraway places 
And it gives me joy as my heart races
